DODGERS BLOW ONE FOR THE AGES

Up 4 runs in the 9th at home, against the NY Yankees, things couldn't have gone worse for the Dodgers. First mistake, manager Joe Torre bring in closer Jonathan Broxton to pitch in a non-save situation, with the Dodgers up 4. Second mistake, Broxton just pitched a 4 out inning the night before. Third mistake, after the Yanks score 3 and have runners on first and third, ground ball is hit to 1B James Loney. Instead of Loney throwing straight to home, he runs to first then throws to home to get the inningn ending double play. The throw is late, the run scores, the game is tied. 4th mistake, reliever George Sherrill throws a ham down the middle to second baseman Robinson Cano who sends it to the bleachers. By the way, did I tell you that Robinson Cano is leading the league in batting avg., hitting .359. If you think it's just 1 game, think again. This is why the Yankees are the Yankees. This is why the Dodgers are never favored to win the World Series. I think Torre made a couple of emotional decision that cost his team the game. Tough break(S) for the Dodgers, not acceptable for Los Angeles.
