HOW BAD ARE THE BALTIMORE ORIOLE?

Almost halfway through the season and the Baltimore Orioles have already thrown in the towel, with an abysmal 18-49 records. 1 guy from their starting roster is batting over .300, and that's barely (Nick Markakis at .303). Not sure what they were thinking in signing Miguel Tejada in the offseason. His best years are behind him. The Dominican went from being regarded one of the best shortstops in the league to not being regarded at all. Steroids, hope it was worth it. And I don't want to hear all this junk about how they're a small market team and don't have the money to compete with the Yanks and the Red Sox. They traded for starting pitcher Kevin Milwood (salary $12,000,000) who I think is 0-8 with an era over 5. That's what I want out of my ace. Bad management is where the blame lies. Look at the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. They've been sucking for years and with a little patience, smart front office (i.e. Joe Maddon), and a great farm system, the Rays made it to the World Series a few years ago and as of today, sit 1/2 game behind the Yankees in the NL East and roughly 23 games ahead of the Orioles. I'm not saying that I expect the Orioles to win the crown but how about trying to compete? How about staying in contention until the all-star break? This team hasn't had a winning percentage over .500 since 1997. Talk about a post-season drought!!! I feel bad for the fans in Baltimore. There's always the Ravens though.
